Sr. Safa Muhanna- 2nd Grade Teacher
Children are gifted individuals with lots of potential to be unleashed. In the 2nd grade environment it is our goal to help in this process by assisting the students to acquire critical thinking skills through everyday activities in different content areas. Students are encouraged to interact with classmates and teachers to enhance and strengthen their social learning skills, allowing them to develop a positive self-image. Once children feel confident with themselves and their ability to understand the world around them, they become more eager to explore and learn.
Alhamdullilah, I currently hold my BA in Education and Psychology and am an NJ Certified Teacher. I am also currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision at New Jersey City University. This is my 5th year teaching at Al-Hikmah School.

Sr. Abeer Tutanji-2nd Grade Teacher
Teaching is a profession that is different than any other; it entails molding and creating our future. It is honorable to know that like an artisan, one is carefully laying the blocks in order to create the foundations of tomorrow. I am especially privileged because I am playing an active role in the building of what will hopefully be a stronger, more steadfast reality than the one in which we live today. As a teacher of AlHikmah School, my ammanah is not only to teach the children English, Science, Social Studies, etc., it is to arm them with all they need in order to be able to hold their heads up high, proclaiming the message of Islam and living every moment by its values.
May Allah strengthen us to successfully carry on this task of such great magnitude-Ameen.
I graduated from Rutgers University in 1998, with a major in Social Work and a minor in Child Psychology. I am a certified social worker.
I have been teaching Second Grade at Al Hikmah for about 8 years now. I have my certificate of eligibility for teaching and I am currently completing the alternate route program.
