Sr. Azza ElMenyawi, 3rd-6th Grade Quran
Assalam alaikum,
I have had the honor of working at Al-Hikmah school since 2000. In my years here, it has been my goal and purpose to help children build a love for the Quran and the beautiful religion of Islam which we have been blessed with. I believe strongly in our school and have been privileged to have taught many of our community's leaders.
I have a rich background in Islamic studies including a Bachelors degree in Islamic Studies and Arabic Language from Al-Azhar Al-Shareef University in Cairo, alhamdullilah. I also hold a Diploma in Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul al Fiqh). Previous to working in Al-Hikmah School I taught Islamic Studies and Quran in the Holy City of Madinah, The Azhar Institute in Cario, and in the United Arab Emirates.

Assalam Alaikum,
It is with grace and honor that I accept the responsibility of imparting upon our children the importance and beauty of our religion. Nothing can portray the importance of this task better than the words of Allah and our holy prophet:
- Allah says: "Say "This is my way, I call to Allah, on clear evidence, I and those who follow me, and Glorified be Allah, and I am not of those who do shirk". Yusuf:108
- Prophet Muhammad (salla Allahu Alayhi wasalam) said: "I was sent as a teacher". The prophet (salla Allahu Alayhi wasallam) also said: "I am to you as the father to his child' meaning that the father works to save the child in this Dunia while the prophet works to save the child in the Akhirah.
In taking on this mission, I always remember the words of our esteemed Imam Al-Ghazaly
- "A child is entrusted to his parents and teachers. His heart is like a pure and untouched pearl, devoid of any imprints or engravings. The child will accept all that is imprinted upon him; follow that which he is directed towards. If the child is developed and taught on that which is good, his parents, teachers and guardians will become joyous in this world and the hereafter. If the child is neglected or developed on the path of evil, the fault will be placed on those entrusted with him."
