SAT results for the past three years have been compiled. The SAT consists of critical reading, Mathematics, and writing section. The average and quartiles of each section were found. The results were compared in a table to the Teaneck public high school, the county, and the state data for 2006 and 2007 (2008 public school report card has not been released yet)
The data indicates that Al Ghazaly high school did better than Teaneck HS, the county, and the state in all the three areas tested. The average, median, and the quartiles were higher than the comparable data.
The improvement is noticeable in the 2007 and 2008 Ghazaly results. In 2007 the median and the upper quartile (top 25% of students) were significantly higher than the comparable data. The top 50% of our students are scoring better than the top 25% of the state public school students.
The College Board has changed the format of the SAT writing section in 2005/2006. Al Ghazaly English department has implemented a writing program in 2006/2007. Since then there was a considerable improvement in the writing section results. The average increased by 11 points the first year, and 43 points the year after. The upper quartile also was significantly improved (90 points for the first year, and 20 points for the year after).
Above 97% of our senior classes have continued their education in four-year colleges. The mean combined SAT score for Math and Critical Reading was 1145 2008-2009 school year.

7th Grade and 8th Course Offerings:
The course offerings in middle grade constitute the preparatory classes for high school. 7th grade is a transition year, where the students get acquainted with curriculum, style of teaching, and middle grade assessments.
Placement in honor classes in the high school is based on student performance in grade eight and middle grade teachers’ recommendations. The Terra Nova Standardized test is administered in April of each year.
